Chimera Ink was founded on a moment of uncanny coincidence. In 2018, I—TENMA, a writer and worldbuilder—came across an illustration by Aika-chan. The character they had drawn looked eerily similar to one I had been sketching since grade school. It felt like fate, so I reached out and asked if they needed a writer. They turned me down. A week later, they changed their mind—and that decision set everything in motion.
Aika-chan gave me five or six characters and a loose backstory. I expanded the cast, tripled the lore, and built an entire world around it. From that collaboration, Umbral was born. What started as a simple exchange between two creators quickly became something much bigger. The pandemic slowed our momentum, but we never stopped pushing forward. Now, in 2025, Chimera Ink is back—stronger than ever, ready to take the world by storm.
Leading the charge is our next major project: WÜNDERGARTEN, a dark fantasy epic headed by me, with a powerhouse team that Aika-chan helped assemble. But this is just the beginning.
At Chimera Ink, our mission is to unite talented writers and artists from around the world, blending creativity and skill to craft compelling stories. Our vision? To create our own Shonen Jump-esque e-magazine—an innovative platform where groundbreaking manga, webcomics, and serialized stories can thrive.
We believe in stories that push boundaries, in art that captivates, and in a future where independent creators have the platform they deserve. Chimera Ink isn’t just a company—it’s a movement. And we’re just getting started.
